Graphics and multimedia software

Power users such as engineers, architects, desktop publishers and graphics artist often use sophisticated software that allows them to work with graphics and multimedia. Graphics are graphical images, such as digital photographs, clip art and original art. Multimedia refers to application that includes more than one type of media, but often refers to audio and video content.

Multimedia technology facilitates integration of text, data, image, graphics, audio, video, animation in digital form in computers.

This software includes computer-aided design, desktop publishing, paint/image editing, photo editing, video and audio editing, multimedia authoring and web page authoring.

Many graphics and multimedia programs incorporate user-friendly interfaces, making it possible for the home and small business users to create documents using these programs.

CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD Map and Harvard Graphics are some of the commonly used graphic software. Adobe Photoshop is an image editing software with multiple layers, interactive GUI and powerful object-based editing tools.

Adobe Flash is the industry standard for creating multimedia interfaces, animations, games and other multimedia elements for web-pages and CDs.

Multimedia, a latest computer technology, displays information using a combination of full-motion video, text, graphics, animation and sound. PowerPoint is a special form of multimedia software that is primarily used for making presentations.
