A computer system comprises hardware and software components, aiming to offer a powerful computational tool. These systems play a crucial role across diverse domains, aiding us in numerous tasks. The prevalence of the internet has significantly bolstered the utilization of computers for information sharing and communication. Computer systems empower us to store, process, display, and transmit information. Even in a basic modern computer system, multiple programs are typically required to carry out various functions effectively.

Delphi language

Delphi is a high-level programming language and a software product supporting object-oriented design. It is a rapid application development used to develop applications ranging from database solutions to mobile applications and is used on Windows as well as Linux.

Delphi’s appearance allowed the developers to use the same code (with minor adjustments) to build native applications not only for Windows but also for Android, iOS, macOS, and Linux. Delphi includes a code editor, a visual designer, an integrated debugger, a source code control component, and support for third-party plugins.

Delphi is named after the Oracle at Delphi of Greek legend and is one of the first-ever Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools. It is a product of Borland and first entered the market in 1995 as Delphi 1, adding some object-oriented capabilities to the Pascal Language. Early versions were only compatible with the Windows platform. In 2001 Kylix was released, which is the Linux version of Delphi. The first version of the Delphi computer language was for developing applications in MS Windows 3.1.

Programming languages require the conversion of the human readable source code into raw machine instructions which can be executed by the computer.

With Delphi, this conversion takes place directly within its integrated editor environment where the compiler produces fully compiled applications ready to execute without further pre-processing and, typically, no further support components or installable runtimes.

More often found in corporate applications requiring database access, Delphi can handle everything from printers to POS applications. While not well-known for game development – C languages tend to lead there – Delphi is perfect for almost all other programming uses.

Robotics: Integration between computer science and engineering

Word robot was coined by a Czech novelist Karel Capek in a 1920 play titled Rassum’s Universal Robots (RUR). Robot in Czech is a word for worker or servant.

The Robot Institute of America designates a robot as “a reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specialized devices through various programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks.”

Robotics requires a systems integration approach of concepts from Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering, and Computer Science.

Early robots were all programmed by a method called teach by showing, which involved moving the robot to a desired goal point and recording its position in a memory that the sequencer would read during playback.

Since the arrival of powerful computer, a programming language is used. The robot computer contains a language processor which interpret the task programs and provides the data required by the control program to direct the robot’s motions.

Robotics is already making a remarkable impact in medical care through the development of advanced prosthesis devices as well as robot-assisted surgery.

Java for World Wide Web

Java was developed in the early 1990s, at Sun Microsystems Labs, by team led by James Gosling. Java has two lives one as a stand-alone computer language for general-purpose programming and the other as a supporting language for internet programming.

Applications programs are stand alone programs that can run on the computer. Java applets are programs that run from a web browser and make the web responsive and interactive.
Java was meant to be used in distributed environment such as internet. Since, both web and Java share the same philosophy, Java could be easily incorporated into the web system.

Before, Java the World Wide Web was limited to the display of still images and tests. However, the incorporation of Java into Web pages has made it capable of supporting animation, graphics, games and a wide range of special effects.

Java also can be found in many places including: web servers, relational databases, mainframe computers, telephones, orbiting telescopes, smartcards.

C language

C and C++ are closely related programming languages used to create computer programs. Using these languages, programmers write documents called source files and then use a program called a compiler to covert the source files into program files that can be executed by a computer.

The C programming language was designed to be small and portable. As a result, there are some necessary facilities that are not part of the language. For example, storage allocation, string handling, and I/O are provided by the standard library.
The C language was originally designed by Dennis Ritchie for the DEC PDP-11 computer system and the UNIX operating system\, between 1969 and 1973. In the three decades after its first appearance, C became one of the most successful programming languages in history.

In addition to becoming the language of choice for most UNIX programming as microcomputers became capable of running high-level languages C became the language of choice for developing MS-DOS, Windows and Macintosh programs.

C has succeeded because it has satisfied a need for a system implementation language sufficiently abstract and fluent to describe algorithms and interactions in a wide variety of environments, yet efficient enough to displace assembly language.

SQL (Structured Query Language)

SQL, the abbreviation for Structured Query Language, is a a standard computer lingo that was initially elaborated by IBM for querying, changing and determining relational databank, utilizing Declarative programming.

There are many graphical tools that have made the task of developing applications that use SQL easier. Most of these tools, however, are available in the high-end databases.

IBM developed SQL in 1970, which means it’s been around for over 45 years. Its original name was SEQUEL.  SEQUEL stands for Structured English Query Language. It was developed by Donald D. Chamberlain and Raymond F. Boyce.

SQL is widely implemented by many companies in the industry and almost all major relational database management systems support SQL.

There are four sub-languages that make the SQL:
*Data Query Language (DQL) operations
*Data Definition Language (DDL)
*Data Control Language (DCL)
*Data Manipulation Language (DML)

SQL goes hand-in-hand with the relational model because the result of an SQL query is a table (also called, a result set). Thus, a new permanent table can be created in a relational database simply by storing the result set of a query.

What is computer hacker?

In the computer security context, a hacker is a person who attempts to breach the security of computer system by access from a remote point, especially by guessing or otherwise obtaining a password.

The person had an instinctive knowledge enabling him or her to develop software apparently by trial and error.

The broadest term of hacker would be a computer expert who is capable of clever or novel solution to computer problems.

Hacking, in computerese, is the obsessive use of computers, or the unauthorized access and use of networked computer system. Illegal hackers (also called crackers) frequently assault the internet and other networks to steal or damage data and programs.

Although many person in the computer industry continue to use the term ‘hacker’ to pick out programmers of distinction, the term ‘hacker’ is now used by most person only to pick out persons who intrude upon systems and machines belonging to other people without any meaningful authorization.

Hackers can monitor E-mail, Web server access, or file transfer to extract passwords or steal network files, or to plant data that will cause a system to welcome intruders.

A hacker may also use remote services that allow one computer on a network to execute programs on another computer to gain privileged access within network.

Hackers, crackers and computer criminals have a growing palate of tactics and technologies that can used to achieve their purpose.

This include harvesting passwords from unsuspecting user, stepping stones that conceal the ultimate source of an intrusion and stolen storage space to serve as caches for among other things, attack programs, password files or stolen card credit numbers.

The good and bad hackers have similar personalities. What separate them is their ethics.
