What is customized software? Customized software are those that are developed for a customer where domain, environment and requirements are unique to that customer. It is usually written for a single customer.
It is also written specifically for an operation. The user is actively involved in determining the functions to be performed.

For example, process control systems, traffic management systems, hospital management systems, and manufacturing process control systems require customized software.

Software companies could benefit by offering customized software because many users may value the product more and have greater brand royalty.

When a customer discovers that there is no off-the –shelf software available to meet a particular need, it must invest time and money in developing customized software.

New customized software does not benefit from years of testing but is an essential component in a business’s competitive strategy.
